ABOUT THE CURRICULUM 

 

Students, who are enroll in the Advance Regents Program (ARP), will take Integrated Algebra.  Integrated Algebra is the ninth grade curriculum. This means, at the end of the academic school year, the student will have completed both the eighth and ninth grade curriculum. As a result, all students will take the Eighth grade New York State Exam, in addition, student will take Integrated Algebra Regents in June. 

 
 
CLASSROOM SUPPLIES

Besides the textbooks that will be issued, to be prepared adequately for success, the student will need the following items:

  • One 5 subjects notebook
  • Ruler
  • Graph paper
  • Pencils and Sharpener
  • Folder

It is strongly recommended that the student has access to:

  • A graphing calculator 
  • Barron’s Review for Integrated Algebra

 

 
                                              
 
 
 STUDENT & PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Every effort will be made to ensure the student’s success. In order for the student to meet the course requirements, it is critically important that the student maintain excellent attendance. Equally important, the student is required to do homework everyday. Homework is assigned everyday. Also, a class assessment is given every two or three weeks.  After each assessment is graded and returned, the student is required and encouraged to make corrections and return the test after it is signed by the student’s parent. Furthermore, we encourage the student to use the 50 minutes program to seek the help he/she may need. 

 

CLASS GRADING POLICY

 

The class grading policy is as follows:

  • Tests /quizzes                        50%
  • Homework                              20%
  • Classwork/participation         20%
  • Preparation for class              10%
